In Greek mythology, Evadne was the naiad of Argos.

In another Greek legend, she was the wife of Capaneus. She threw herself onto his burning body after he was killed by a lightning bolt sent by Zeus.

In popular culture the name was used on the popular TV series, Wonder Woman, as the name of the protagonist’s cousin.
